Unless you are one of the few lucky clubs that can sail all year round, you will find yourself needing to pack up and put away your Bots for the off-season. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to set yourself up for success, ensuring your Bots are in great shape when you pull them out at the beginning of the sailing season.
- Inspect pontoons, rings and hulls for leaks
- If you have the supplies to repair the leaks, do so before storing them. Otherwise make a note and reach out to support@marksetbot.com so you receive a patch kit and remember to fix any leaks before the next season begins.

 - Rinse, clean and dry hull and topside - Dawn dish soap works well for this
- Bots should be rinsed of all dirt/salt and dried well to avoid mildewing

 - Remove the prop to inspect for foreign objects like seaweed and jellyfish on the prop pin/shaft. Inspect the prop pin to ensure that it moves freely and regrease as needed.
 - Wipe down the motor and prop to remove dirt, debris and salt - use a damp sponge with light dish soap if needed.
 - Lay motor flat for at least 24 hours so any moisture in steering motor can drain
 - Remove the prop and secure it onto the shipping cradle, and then put the black prop collar onto the motor, place the washer and nut back onto the shear pin and tighten. (This protects the prop from being damaged during storing).
 - Inspect Battery Box (Pelican case) for any moisture or standing water.
 - Check silica desiccant (in Battery Box) - the beads should be orange. If they are grey/clear, heat the pack in the oven at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 hours.
 - Clean pelican case with dawn dish soap, soft bristle brush, and water.
 - Charge battery to 100% and then unplug and turn off
 - Store everything indoors (especially in environments that are cold w/ snow)
 - Fold and pack everything away - for tutorial visit:
